Unrelated Auction Reference Found with the Volume
An American Book Prices Current clipping kept with C026 describes an entirely different copy: an 1859 second edition in original cloth, with a title leaf and six inserted plates, retouched in watercolors by Henry Morton in 1895 and inscribed by him. The clipping records Swann Galleries, April 15, 1982, lot 171. It does not describe C026 and is not evidence of this first-edition copy’s provenance.
Shelfmark
State Library marker: RB 493.117 R728r 1858. The rear-board photograph also records the State Library barcode.
